I love that this pasta and salmon dish only takes 30 minutes to prepare, but if you want to stretch it even further, add some roasted asparagus or garlic-parmesan air-fried broccoli.

Why I Love Salmon Pesto Pasta:

Simple components – All components are straightforward and accessible.

30 Minute Meal – You can prepare the Salmon Pesto Pasta sauce while waiting for the water to boil and the pasta to cook.

🥘Ingredients

Salmon-Pesto-Pasta

Use filets or a single, bigger piece of fresh salmon. Works with or without skin.

• Olive Oil – Any cooking oil will do.

Spices: salt, pepper, and garlic powder

To give the fish a crust, cover it with flour.

Chicken broth—to prepare Salmon Pesto Pasta sauce and deglaze the pan. Also fantastic would be white wine!

Use your preferred canned pesto or create your own using basil. This dish can also be prepared using the pesto from the pasta with lemon and parsley.

Cream, Heavy

When making pasta, I prefer to use short noodles, such as rigatoni, penne, or farfalle.

Saved Pasta Water – You may make the sauce with part of the pasta water that you have saved. This aids in the pasta’s coasting.

Lemon Juice, which should be drizzled on just before serving.

For serving, fresh parsley with Parmesan cheese

For complete information on ingredients and amounts, refer to the recipe card.

📖Variations

While I adore the richness that a tiny quantity of cream adds, you can easily skip the cream if you want a slightly lighter dish. You may either increase the amount of pesto used or leave the remainder of the recipe unchanged.

Add Veggies – I enjoy adding cooked, chopped asparagus or broccoli to the meal if you want to add some vegetables. To make things simple, you may cook broccoli along with the Salmon Pesto Pasta.
Shrimp instead of Salmon – Shrimp is just as tasty as salmon! Skip the flour dredging and just fry the shrimp in the pan (shrimp cook in about a minute each side until opaque), remove, and continue with the procedure.

Recipe Tips

Don’t Overcook the Salmon – Overcooking the salmon can result in dry fish. The skin of the salmon should come off with ease. I like my salmon cooked to an internal temperature of 135 to 140 degrees F (medium salmon), but if you prefer well-done, you can cook it to 145 degrees F.

This Bang Bang Salmon or Air Fryer Salmon is yet another popular salmon recipe.

Cook the pasta for until it’s al dente since it’ll be continue to cook when it sits while the pesto sauce is being prepared and then it’s added to the hot sauce in the pan.

The starchy pasta water should be saved since it is like liquid gold. Make sure to set aside a full mug so you can stir in a generous amount of sauce. This aids in giving the sauce a silky texture that coats the pasta.
